Ski touring - Mont Pourri

Le Mont Pourri 3779m, is the most famous summit in the Tarentaise valley. It towers over the others and is known for its great view point.

Itinerary: From the top of the « Grand col »ski lift, we start our tour, equipped with skis and skins, ascending the « Grand Col Glacier to reach the Col des Roches. After a short downhill run, we gain a foothold on the Geay glacier and start climbing again. Once we reach the top, the view is breathtaking and covers a good part of the Alps; l'Oisans, the Maurienne, Grand Paradis, the « 4000m summits of Switzerland and of course the magnificent Mont Blanc.

The round tour takes 4 hours.                     

We can ski down by the « Geay » glacier until we reach Peisey Nancroix. This is a longer and more attractive route than the way back down to les Arcs.

Dates : Mid march to June. From the beginning of may we also can spend the night in a mountain hut and do the ascent in 2 days.
