About Us
When Robert Blanc created the Les Arcs resort in 1968, he, a high-mountain guide, took the initiative to establish a Guides Office.
The proximity of the high mountains with Mt Pourri, the Dôme de la Sache, the opening onto the Beaufortain massif with the famous Pierra Menta, and the southern gateway to the Mont Blanc massif with the Aiguille des Glaciers, have made this area an important place for mountaineering in the Vanoise.
Prestigious guides such as Patrick Vallençant, Jean Affanazief, Jean Marc Boivin, and François Diaferia were part of this office. Alain Gaimard, creator of the famous Apocalypse Snow films, was also the organizer of the Raid Gauloise, assisted by Pierre Beguin. This adventure allowed the guides of Les Arcs to travel the world. Subsequently, the duo DESLANDES-MEREL, authors of the books Topos de la Vanoise and Falaises et Via Ferrata en Vanoise et Beaufortain, were the driving force behind the equipping of major climbing routes. To this day, the guides of Les Arcs, including Dominique Maillot, continue this work.
Mid-mountain guides quickly joined the guides' office, bringing their valuable knowledge of the mountain biotope to the public.
More recently, the Peisey Vallandry guide office joined forces with the Les Arcs guide office, giving rise to the Les Arcs Peisey-Vallandry Guide and Tour Leader Office.
With over 50 years of experience, our guide office, a member of the Vanoise guide company, is one of the most dynamic and innovative offices in the French mountains.
As guides and leaders who are passionate about the mountains and nature, we will accompany you in your projects, with the safety of everyone as our golden rule.
